Ever since the mid-1980s, the Livonia Rotary Club has manned what has become the most popular concession stand at the mid-July Hemlock Fairgrounds “Little World’s Fair.” It is located in an ideal location adjacent to the grandstands where all the major fair events are held (demolition derbies; horse, truck, and tractor pulls, etc.).
Our larger food stand sells Zweigles red/white hots and Italian sausages; hamburgers and cheeseburgers; grilled chicken breasts; butter-drenched salt potatoes; and soft drinks, milk and bottled water. For the past several years the club also supports a smaller food stand for the convenience of those attending events in the grandstand area. It sells the same kinds of items as the larger food stand.
Our Fair Stand enterprise helps the Livonia Rotary Club net enough to finance a number of community projects throughout the year.
The Fair Stand has also proven to be a great way to involve virtually every member of the club and, lately, many high school students who have been very eager to help ensure our success, year after year.
For more information about helping us by working a shift or two during the exciting Hemlock Fair at either our “infield” stand or our larger, original stand, please contact Ralph Parker at (585) 346-3670 or e-mail it at RCP3@frontiernet.net. Any help you can provide is gratefully appreciated!
